We’re seeking passionate, reliable volunteers to help maintain and enhance our grounds, contribute to creative projects, and support our one-of-a-kind events. Whether you have experience in gardening, woodworking, landscaping, event planning, or social media, or just want to learn and get your hands dirty, there’s a place for you here.

Volunteers are essential to keeping Camp Mara Wanna thriving! Whether you enjoy working with your hands, getting creative, or helping behind the scenes, there’s a place for you here. Below are the different areas where you can lend a hand, along with some of the tasks you may help with.
🌱 Gardening
Help us grow and maintain our gardens! Gardening volunteers assist with tasks such as:
• Preparing soil and planting herbs, vegetables, and flowers
• Watering and caring for plants
• Pruning, weeding, and harvesting
• Making and applying compost tea to enrich the soil
🏕️ Groundskeeping
Keep our space looking beautiful and welcoming for all visitors! This may include:
• Clearing walking paths and general cleanup
• Organizing and maintaining outdoor areas
• Assisting with fire pit maintenance
• Managing waste and recycling stations
🌿 Landscaping
Help shape the natural beauty of Camp Mara Wanna by working on outdoor projects such as:
• Building and maintaining walking trails
• Creating and maintaining shade structures
• Mulching and planting to improve erosion control
• Constructing natural features like rock gardens or water reservation areas
🎨 Decorations & Signage
Bring creativity to our space by helping design and install decorative elements! This may include:
• Painting and creating event signs
• Making wooden signs for trails and gardens
• Decorating event spaces for a welcoming feel
• Creating artistic features that enhance the campsite
🔨 Woodworking
Assist with hands-on projects to build and improve our space. Woodworking volunteers may work on:
• Constructing benches, tables, and shade structures
• Building compost bins and garden beds
• Repairing or improving existing wooden features
• Creating handmade signs and functional décor
(Woodworking is divided into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels to ensure safety and skill-appropriate tasks.)
📱 Social Media & Admin
Help spread the word about Camp Mara Wanna and keep our community engaged! This could involve:
• Taking and editing photos of volunteer projects and events
• Writing social media posts and updates
🎭 Event Planning (Limited to One Saturday Per Month)
Be part of the creative team that brings our events to life! Event planning volunteers may help with:
• Setting up and breaking down event spaces
• Assisting with guest coordination and check-ins
• Organizing supplies and materials for workshops
• Helping with decorations and ambiance

All Volunteers must be 25 or older unless previously discussed with staff.
CMW is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bud) Venue. There are Absolutely NO Cannabis sales.
No experience is necessary! We welcome all skill levels and will provide guidance based on your comfort and abilities. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, there’s a task for you.
Each shift is three hours (11 AM – 2 PM or 3 PM – 6 PM). Volunteers may sign up for one shift per day, up to three times per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).
Since most tasks take place outdoors, we recommend wearing:
• Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing (layers if needed)
• Closed-toe shoes or boots (for safety)
• Gloves (if you prefer to bring your own)
• A hat and sunglasses (for sun protection)
To stay comfortable during your shift, consider bringing:
• A reusable water bottle (hydration is key!)
• Bug spray (mosquitoes and ticks can be present)
• Sunscreen (especially for midday shifts)
• Work gloves (optional, but helpful for some tasks)
• Snacks (if you need a little energy boost)
Yes! Just make sure they sign up in advance and complete the required waiver before arriving.
Mara Wanna is permitted on-site, but volunteers must remain clear-headed while working, especially when using tools or equipment. Safety comes first!
We don’t provide meals for volunteers, but you’re welcome to bring your own snacks or packed lunch. Occasionally, we may have special appreciation days with food!
You can sign up through our Volunteer Sign-Up Form (linked on our website). Once you sign up, you’ll receive a confirmation email with details about your shift and a link to complete the required waiver.
If you can’t make your scheduled shift, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to someone else.
• Arrive on time so we can start the shift together and assign tasks efficiently.
• Respect the space—Camp Mara Wanna is a place for connection, mindfulness, and community. Be kind and considerate.
• Hydrate and protect yourself from the elements—bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray!
• Listen to instructions and ask questions if you’re unsure about a task. We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident.
